Scenario · Reto, Head of Production

Machines, people, AI. Finally on the same shift.

Reto can hear when a machine sounds wrong. Recipes used to travel on USB sticks, handovers on a whiteboard, and quality checks came two days late. Today his line is one system – safe, traceable, around the clock.

The story in three sentences

What changes for Reto.

  1. The problem

Every machine an island, every recipe a USB stick, every handover a whiteboard.

  2. The turn

Omnisnap connects machines, people, quality and AI – every recipe checked before it reaches a machine.

  3. The result

Twenty-four hours, three shifts, no surprises.

The story, chapter by chapter.

For reading rather than watching: each chapter of the film as a short text.

Chapter 01The problem

IslandsEvery machine an island.

Recipes live on USB sticks and in binders, and parameters are typed in by hand. One decimal point in the wrong place, and a whole batch is scrap. Nobody knows for sure which version runs on machine three. Every machine has its own software and its own login, and someone works out efficiency in Excel once a week. Only Bruno knows the trick for machine five. Bruno retires in May.

Chapter 02The turn

The airlock for recipesNo recipe reaches a machine unchecked.

A new recipe is checked, released under the four-eyes principle, versioned and sent through the airlock to the machine. The operator confirms at the panel, and only then does the new version apply. The last good recipe is one click away.

The machine’s own safety always has the last word. Omnisnap only works within the limits the machine allows.

Chapter 03The turn

The AI watchesDrift gets noticed before it turns into scrap.

The AI notices a temperature creeping up before it turns into scrap. It suggests a correction, and the operator confirms it at the machine. Instead of a lab result two days later, there are inline checks at every station.

“The AI never touches the line without us.”
Reto, Head of Production
Chapter 04The turn

Around the clockEvery shift knows what the last one knew.

At every shift handover the AI summarises the shift: three things the next team needs to know. Bruno’s tricks become guided work instructions, and a new operator runs machine five on her second day. Anyone who spots an improvement at the machine records it as a voice note. An engineer builds it, Reto releases it on staging, and it is live on the next late shift.

Chapter 05The result

The same shiftThe batch record writes itself while production runs.

Which recipe, which parameters, who confirmed, which check passed: the batch record is written while the line runs. Every change is logged and reversible. The audit is just another Tuesday.

Hand in hand

Four parts, one rhythm.

On Reto’s line, each part meshes with the next. The AI suggests, people decide.

  1. Machinesrun on checked, versioned recipes.
  2. AIwatches, spots drift early and suggests.
  3. Peopledecide, confirm and improve the line.
  4. Qualityis built in, not checked afterwards.
The platform behind it

What holds Reto’s line together

Reto doesn’t need new machine controls. He needs one system that connects machines, people and checks, and engineers who answer for every change.

In any format

Text, a voice note from the machine, a document or a photo: the Omnisnap DevOps Gateway takes improvements the way they come up on the shift.
